THE WOMAN BEHIND INNERMOST WEALTH
Meet Kimberly.
Kimberly A. Houston, CFP®, CRPC®
Founder & Wealth Advisor
Some kids dreamed of becoming astronauts or veterinarians. I dreamed of becoming a financial planner (exciting, I know!).
As a child, I was drawn to the idea of helping people feel safe and in control of their lives. I didn’t have the words for it back then, but I could see that money and the way we relate to it shapes how we feel, what we believe is possible, and the lives we create.
That interest only grew stronger. I studied finance and psychology at Michigan State University (Go Green!) because I believed, and still believe, that money isn’t just math. It’s identity. It’s power. It’s grief. It’s love. To navigate it well, we need more than a spreadsheet. We need a space where we can be real, and a guide who knows how to hold that space.
I’ve spent the last 12+ years working across the financial services industry, from national broker-dealers to boutique RIAs to fintech startups. I’ve supported thousands of clients through every stage of life and wealth, bringing a well-rounded perspective to each plan and relationship. Along the way, I saw how cold and transactional this industry can be, and how often it was built without people like you in mind. I started Innermost Wealth Management to build something different. Something more human.
Today, this work feels like coming home. I get to bring both sides of my brain to every conversation: strategist and empath, analyst and guide. I help people navigate the emotional terrain of their lives that shows up in taxes, investments, family planning, insurance, legacy planning, and more. I don’t just see spreadsheets. I see the story behind them.
Innermost exists to help people feel clear, confident, and grounded in their financial lives. Not just so they can retire one day, but so they can live fully today. With agency. With alignment. And with someone in their corner who truly sees them.

WEALTH MANAGEMENT FOR WOMEN & FAMILIES
Our Mission.
We empower women and families to achieve financial clarity, confidence, and independence. We provide personalized wealth management with a focus on aligning financial decisions with personal values, integrating psychology to help our clients navigate both the emotional and financial aspects of their lives. Our goal is to simplify complex financial matters and support long-term wealth growth, all while fostering a relationship built on trust, understanding, and tailored guidance.
Because life’s not all spreadsheets and strategies.
✦ I’ve traveled to 30 countries and 40+ states, with a special love for the often-overlooked regions. Travel has deepened my appreciation for different perspectives and living with intention, both of which I bring to financial planning every day.
✦ Photography is my creative outlet. I shoot on manual because I like crafting the picture exactly how I envision it.
✦ I grew up with Beagles and now have one of my own. Gracie is our firm’s unofficial Chief Bark Officer, always keeping things grounded and joyful.
✦ I prefer depth over small talk. I’d rather jump straight to the real stories, the big dreams, and the “what ifs.”
✦ I love a good Costco haul. It’s proof that joy can be found in the little (and oversized) things.
Where financial clarity meets emotional depth.
