Frequently Asked Questions
Below are answers to common questions about working with Innermost Wealth Management, including our approach to financial planning, how our relationships work, and what to expect when partnering with an independent financial advisor.
About us.
-
Yes.
As a fiduciary, we are required to act in your best interest. Our recommendations are based on what we believe is appropriate for your situation, not commissions, product sales, or outside incentives.
We believe trust is earned through transparency, thoughtful advice, and consistently putting our clients first.
-
Fee-only means we are compensated directly by our clients, not by investment companies, insurance providers, or commissions.
Because our compensation isn't tied to financial products, our advice remains focused on helping you make decisions that support your goals.
-
Yes. Innermost Wealth Management is based in Metro Detroit, Michigan and works with clients across the country through secure virtual meetings.
While many of our clients are local to Michigan, we intentionally built a virtual-first firm so families can access thoughtful, ongoing financial guidance regardless of location.
Wherever you’re based, you’ll work directly with Kimberly and receive personalized advice designed around your life, goals, and long-term financial decisions.
-
We are not licensed mental health professionals and we do not provide clinical treatment.
That said, we understand how intertwined money and wellbeing are.
Our approach is grounded in psychology and behavioral finance. We hold space for the feelings, beliefs, and patterns that often surface in financial planning and life transitions.
We always recommend working with a licensed mental health provider for clinical care and we are happy to collaborate when it supports your goals and overall wellbeing.
What it's like to work with us.
-
Innermost Wealth works with individuals and families who value a long-term advisory relationship and want a trusted professional helping guide important financial decisions.
Many of our clients are high-earning professionals, business owners, and individuals navigating meaningful life transitions such as career changes, divorce, or major family decisions.
What they share in common is a desire for a coordinated strategy and ongoing guidance designed to support the life they want to live.

Our transparent fee structure reflects an ongoing wealth management relationship that combines investment management with comprehensive financial planning.
Our advisory fee is calculated using a blended schedule, where each rate applies to the assets we manage within that tier.
1.00% on the first $2,000,000 we manage
0.75% on assets between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000
0.50% on assets between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000
0.40% on assets above $10,000,000
Our minimum annual advisory fee is $8,200. If the advisory fee calculated under our standard asset-based schedule is less than the annual minimum, the difference is billed separately.
As a fee-only fiduciary, we do not receive commissions or compensation for recommending financial products.

We use modern financial planning and tax software that brings your investments, retirement planning, cash flow, insurance, estate planning, and long-term financial strategy together in one secure place.
Instead of juggling multiple accounts and spreadsheets, you'll have a more organized view of your financial life.
-
Not at all.
You're an expert at what you do. You don't need to become an expert in investing, taxes, retirement planning, or every aspect of your financial life.
We're here to stay on top of the details, simplify what's complicated, and help you navigate important financial decisions, so you have more time and mental space for the people, work, and experiences that matter most.
-
That's more common than you might think.
Whether your financial life has become more complex or you've simply put planning off for a while, we'll help organize what's already there, identify priorities, and build a strategy one step at a time.
Our philosophy and approach.
-
Our approach is straightforward, thoughtful, and collaborative.
Financial decisions carry emotional weight, especially during major life transitions. We combine technical financial planning with an awareness of the human side of money.
This is a space where you can ask questions, speak openly about what’s on your mind, and work through financial decisions without judgment. Our role is to be a steady, objective partner who is on your side.
-
Our investment philosophy is grounded in long-term, evidence-based investing.
Rather than trying to predict short-term market movements or chase performance, we build diversified portfolios designed around your goals, time horizon, risk tolerance, and overall financial plan.
We also emphasize tax efficiency, disciplined rebalancing, and helping clients stay focused during periods of market uncertainty.
-
Your investment accounts are held with Charles Schwab, one of the nation’s largest custodians serving independent financial advisors and safeguarding trillions in client assets.
Your accounts remain in your name and you maintain ownership of your assets at all times.
-
Many financial decisions aren't made during calm, predictable seasons of life. They're made during career changes, retirement, divorce, receiving an inheritance, selling a business, becoming a parent, caring for aging parents, or losing someone you love.
Those moments require more than technical expertise. They require an advisor who understands both the financial and human side of decision-making.
That's why we combine comprehensive financial planning, evidence-based investing, and financial planning informed by psychology to help clients navigate life's biggest moments with thoughtful guidance and a long-term perspective.
